LFCTS understands that if Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers can sell one of the current goalkeepers at the club not including Pepe Reina, then he would be interested in making a move for Wolves veteran Dorus de Vries.
Liverpool already has 3 first team goalkeepers on the books in the form of Pepe Reina, Doni, and Brad Jones. Brendan Rodgers is known to have keepers who play as a sweeper keeper. This role will suit Pepe Reina but it will be unfamiliar to the likes of Doni and Brad Jones who only managed a handful of appearances last season thanks to suspensions.
De Vries is a Dutch international and has represented his country at U21 level. He is a veteran in terms of appearances, racking up 285 in his club career including spells in England, Scotland, and his native Holland.
De Vries is only 31 years of age which, for most keepers, is when they reach the peak of their career. If he joins the club at this point of his career, he could provide sufficient back up in a sweeper role for Pepe Reina. It is also worth noting that De Vries thrived under Rodgers in the Championship for Swansea City and helping them to promotion.
If Swansea didn’t acquire a bargain in the form of Michel Vorm, we would have most likely seen Dorus de Vries in the Premier League last season.
However, for this deal to happen, it would require a goalkeeper leaving Liverpool Football Club.

He is useless. We I saw him play last season he was always poor so why not just coach Gulacsi into that Sweeper role it’s cheaper and he is only 22 so has bags of time to learn
Agree with you jordan.
Not wanted @ all…we v got goalkeepers alrdy except its VORM…Nooooooooooooooooo
pepe, doni, and brad is more than enough. we don’t need another goalkeeper.
How many more keepers do we have to buy every season??
He doesn’t play for Swansea any more. Swansea signing Vorm was a direct result of him not signing a new contract and going to Wolves on a free.
sign VORM before you sign a old man
seems a completely pointless transfer. what would he offer as back up that Jones or doni don’t already.
Doni is going, Jones is not good enough for the Prem and at the moment neither is Gulacsi.
